Based in Devon

Devon Family History Research is based near Kingsbridge, in the heart of the South Hams district of Devon, UK.

Although all of the Devon record offices are within easy reach if necessary, much of the work can now be carried out online.

It is run by Catherine Plowden BA (Hons).

Graduate researchers

All of the researchers are graduates.

Catherine is a graduate of University College London, and has completed a specialist family and local history course with the Centre for Archive and Information Studies at the University of Dundee.

Catherine is an experienced researcher, with proven analytical skills.  She's had a life-long passion for genealogy and social history, and before setting up her business, helped many friends discover more about their family history.

Catherine has been working on her own family history in her spare time for over fifteen years, and has enjoyed going back many generations in considerable detail - taking a particular interest in her ancestors' life histories, which she finds fascinating.
